Membership fees are annual, per calendar year. If you renew / join in late November / December then you are a member till the end of December the following year.
We ask non-members to join after a period of 4 weeks (ie the fifth session).
These fees cover affiliation to Paddle UK and contribute to the running of the club and the purchase / maintenance of club equipment. Club members have Public Liability Insurance (£10m) on Club Activities because of the Club's affiliation; Coaches also have a measure of employer`s liability insurance.
Payment for Pool sessions:
The Club uses payment using the SPOND Booking System for members.
This will mean you cannot book a session via Spond unless you pay using the App, this will guarantee you a space in the pool. ( £5).
Paying at the Pool in cash is available, also direct bank transfers.
The App knows how many we can accommodate in the pool and will create a waiting list if overbooked.
Anyone who has booked and then finds they are unable to attend - let us know and we will hold your space for another time in the pool.
Anyone making Family payments - You book in for two (£10) and let us know if there are more than two. Spond can send messages.
If you use the pay as you book system, you will need to register a Card with the Spond App
The company handling the payments is a World Wide payment handling company called STRIPE, it has the highest of Payment Company credentials and is internationally recognised. SPOND itself do NOT handle the payments. STRIPE works through the Spond App.
Any problems - please do contact us!
Paddlers are welcome to pay on the night but there is no guarantee there will be space.
It is a good idea to arrive a few minutes early for a session so as to allow time for changing.
Club members have priority over non-members.
Pool Safety and Numbers
For safety reasons, we need to know exactly how many people are in the pool and who they are. We have a guideline maximum of 20 paddlers in the pool.
To achieve this, we have introduced Wrist Bands for paddlers. This means that everyone who paddles will need to check in at the the Club's Reception Desk in the pool foyer and collect a band. We normally need to use this only for the first session.
These will be needed to check into the Pool area itself, and collected at the end of the session.
We hope this will make things easier and safer for all.
* Distance Membership:
Intended for those who would like to be Club Members but for assorted reasons it is impractical to visit regularly. They would manage perhaps 10 club meetings per year. Use the membership forms to become a distance member.
Storing Member's boats in the Club Garage
We ask members who are storing boats in the club's garage to contribute towards the costs of garage maintenance, a donation (£1 per week or £50 pa for each boat)is requested to help keep the garage in good repair. Anyone who feels this might be a problem should contact the Club Chairman in person to discuss this.
Calendar
Our club calendar is available as a google calendar and can be integrated with your calendar on a smartphone. Spond bookings are on this calendar. Ask Al or Andy for more information.
