What we do, our advice...
The information on this site is intended to promote the amateur sport of canoeing and Copeland Canoe Club.

The club recognises that " Canoeing and Kayaking are "assumed risk water contact sports"   that may carry attendant risks. Participants should be aware of and accept these risks, and be aware of the need for their own action and involvement".

Copeland Canoe Club is an affiliated member club of British Canoeing (No. 954) and a BC Quality Mark Club, Paddle-Ability. We are a Community Amateur Sports Club (no. CASC 00884). We are Clubmark accredited.

Copeland Canoe Club recommends that anyone intending to take part in canoeing or kayaking activities should seek advice and training from an appropriately qualified (BC) coach.
Coach ratios: we use the BC guidelines as to the number of persons on the water per coach.

Copeland Canoe Club subscribes to the codes of conduct for equity and for young people / vulnerable adults as set out by British Canoeing. We subscribe to their policies with regard to photography and the use of video equipment.

Our code of conduct for all, coaches, members of all ages and parents, is set out in full on the website and in part on the membership form. All members are asked to sign that they will abide by it. Visitors are also asked to abide by this and a sample is provided on the visitor information leaflet.
