Club Pool Sessions
Change in weekly charges from 11th Sept 18
Copeland Canoe club members continue to benefit from the two hour coach led pool session at Whitehaven pool. From Sept 17 we have seen a decline in the number of members using the pool sessions mainly within the second and third sessions. For many years the club has absorbed the yearly pool hire charge increase without increasing the weekly member charge, which has remained at £4. Over the last couple of years the club has made a financial loss with the pool charges which we have managed to off-set through outdoor sessions.
The cost of the two hour pool session has now increased to £150, therefore the committee has now had to take the decision to increase the weekly pool charge by an additional £1. From the 11th Sept 2018 the weekly cost per person will increase by £1 to:
Members: £5.00; families maximum £10.00 no matter how many attend
Non members: £6.00; families maximum £12.00 no matter how many attend
Sessions will continue :-
1st Session 8.00pm - 8.40 pm: "beginners".
2nd Session 8.40pm - 9.20 pm: "improvers".
3rd Session 9.20pm - 10:00 pm: "advanced".
We will aim to have a maximum of 20 paddlers (main pool) in any one session, where the 2nd and 3rd sessions are not fully utilised, members will be able to request to stay in the following session at no additional charge, which we have managed to accommodate the majority of times (First come basis). The above change can be discussed with Mark Jones, Club Chairman in confidence on 07740 740 551.
Could we encourage club members to support these pool sessions to improve or retain their skills in a warm, safe environment.
The committee would also welcome feedback from its members on any changes they would like to be considered for us starting back at the pool in Sept 18. Hope to see as many out on the water over the rest of the Summer months as part of our outdoor session every Tues, see our website for Summer programme details. As a reminder the pool sessions start on Tues 11th Sept.
